Data Scientists focus on data, statistics, and insights. They are able to gather and analyze data, design experiments, and apply machine learning techniques to generate valuable product and business insights.

What skills are required to be a Data Scientist?

Data Scientists need at least a basic understanding of statistics. They should be comfortable querying and analyzing data and interacting with the databases or data warehouse platforms where it's stored, often using SQL. They should be comfortable using languages like Python or R to manipulate data and generate charts and plots. They should know how to work with Big Data platforms like Hadoop or Spark, which can involve a combination of SQL and more complex programming in Python or Java.
