We are hiring software engineers to help improve our visualization and analysis tools, to scale our infrastructure to handle the terabytes of genomic data we generate each day, to test and improve the performance of our pipelines, and to design the next generation of genomics applications. We make extensive use of cloud services, modern front-end frameworks, and a variety of languages to get the job done. As a 10x engineer, you will not only work with an experienced team of developers, but experts in chemistry, biology, microfluidics, and manufacturing engineering. Engineering at 10x Genomics

Engineering team and processes

Team is structured into Platform, Visualization/Front-End, and QA. We make extensive use of GitHub, Travis, Jenkins plus internally developed infrastructure to help manage very compute-intensive analysis pipelines that can consume thousands of core-hours each.

Technical Challenges

Scaling compute clusters of tens to hundreds of thousands of cores. Building HTML/CSS/JS visualizations for datasets that are 10GB in size with millions of data points. Using machine vision to analyze cells and droplets moving at 1,000Hz.
