Why join us?
Abnormal is a veteran team with a track record of building successful companies. Our 8-person senior engineering team hails from Google, Pinterest, Twitter and most of us have worked at (or founded) startups with successful exits.

Engineering at Abnormal Security
Each person on our engineering team works closely with our customers. Customer meetings are the driving force for innovation within the company. Our PM ingests the customer notes into the high level takeaways and the features to be built. When there's a strong, clear ask from multiple customers in terms of a feature set, the features are designed by our Product Designer. Our frontend engineers work closely with the PM and Designer. Designs are available for the frontend team a couple weeks before they are worked on.
Engineers work on a weekly cadence, and define the features they should undertake in the following week. We use Jira for sprint planning, and for tracking the per-customer asks. Frontend engineers have ownership and responsibility over the entire feature, from design, development, code reviews (in Phabricator), writing the appropriate unit/integration tests (that are run through CircleCI) and launching it through our staging to production systems.
Work on a frontend that is loved by our customers. The frontend is a layer on top of high scale, high throughput, low latency ML systems that identify malicious events.
Build a highly responsive, well designed application that is loved by our customers, who use it on a daily basis.
Design and implement the right schemas on the backend to allow for a responsive and pleasant UX on the frontend.
Work on an enterprise product, and design and implement the authentication, authorization and permissions layer of the product.
