Why join us?
We're growing at an unprecedented rate, and as an early engineer at AdaptedMind, you will have a huge impact on the direction of that growth as we transition to a more modern technical architecture.
We are aiming to be the largest reaching education platform for early children ages 5-11. Our goal is not only to provide an amazing, adaptive learning experience but to do so in a sustainable and healthy We are not optimizing for screen time but for learning.
We give our engineers the freedom to develop their own ideas and have a say in the process and final product.
Engineering at AdaptedMind
We're a very small team with a huge bias for simplicity. As an early employee, you will be able to take on a large amount of responsibility over a diverse range of interesting challenges and build out the company culture with us as we grow.
Our engineering team operates on weekly sprints. We work in a collaborative environment involving different functions, stakeholders, and subject matter experts. We work off of feature branches, use GitHub and code reviews to maintain a high standard of code quality. There is no set deploy schedule as production deploys are set up to be easy and painless. Some weeks we deploy once, some we may deploy several times.
We also play games together (most recently mario kart).
We are migrating our legacy LAMP stack to Golang, React, and Postgres. We are reimagining the way we organize our data and systems in order to reach a wider variety of platforms.
You would restructure 10-years worth of student math data, in order to serve the app better, as well as be used for machine learning algorithms in the future to create a fully adaptive learning experience.
You would structure our React Typescript frontend in a logical manner that is maintainable for the future.
You would build out our go API to help serve our students an adaptive math curriculum.
Working at AdaptedMind
We produce videos with lessons for kids about how to work on procrastination, how it's ok to make mistakes, or how to manage friendships. We try to embrace what we teach ourselves. We enjoy a casual atmosphere while being truly passionate about helping kids learn important and sometimes difficult concepts.
Our environment is highly collaborative, with strong opinions loosely held. As an early employee, you would be responsible for building out the company culture with us as we grow.
We value diversity of thought and opinion and strive to meet those goals as we hire more and grow the team.
Anyone can slack or speak with anyone else, there are no closed doors. We play games together weekly (often multiple times per week). We have happy hours and events and occasionally meet together in a park around SF.
We help each other.
We are committed to hiring and growing a diverse team that will let us leverage a wide range of viewpoints in both our own culture and our product.
