Affinity ingests and analyzes this massive communications data stream and uses it to power our platform, which helps our customers understand, manage, and leverage their networks more effectively.
We've raised over $40M, and since launching our product in the past three years, we've processed over 1 billion communication data points, generated 5+ million introductions and connections, and captured over 40% of the global venture capital market. We're actively expanding our reach across many new markets, and we've got a lot left to build.

Scaling and performance: Tracking communication flows between our customers and all of their contacts means that we capture a huge amount of data. This creates a ton of interesting challenges: How can we rapidly ingest billions of emails and calendar events? How can we scale out data processing and analysis across all those data points? How can we keep user-facing response times low while querying this dataset?
Artificial intelligence: We're automating a lot of processes for our customers by extracting insights from data, which can be tricky to get right. For instance, how can we figure out which emails need a reply, so we can help our clients avoid dropping the ball? How can we intelligently identify introduction emails? How can we compute an accurate relationship strength score based on a history of interactions?
Security: Our customers handle huge deals where confidential information is critical. Security needs to be top-notch: email and calendar data, for instance, is extremely sensitive and needs to be kept safe.
Revamp our data architecture for scale —As our company and product scale to serve many more users, we’re ready to revamp our architecture to efficiently capture and analyze billions of more data points. We’re rapidly outgrowing our single-node PostgreSQL instance, and exploring solutions involving replication, sharding, and NoSQL systems to maintain and improve performance for our production systems even as our datasets grow exponentially.
Perfect our web and mobile apps — If you're passionate about interfaces, you’ll create beautiful, intuitive visualizations and features to help our users find clarity in a world full of noise. You'll work closely with other talented product designers to create interfaces that customers love to use.
