Airbyte is the new open-source data integration platform that runs in the safety of your cloud and replicates data from applications, APIs & databases to data warehouses, lakes and other destinations. In addition to offering a quickly increasing list of maintenance-free connectors, it makes building your own connectors trivial. Airbyte’s ambition is to make data integrations a commodity.
Since launching last year, Airbyte grew the number of connectors supported from 6 to 50, and counts now more than 600 companies that synced data with them. Airbyte just raised a significant Seed round with Accel and YC, and high-profile business angels in the data industry (co-founder of Segment, founder of Liveramp, former GM of Cloudera, etc.).

Engineering at Airbyte
Our team is very flat and because our product is open-source, and geared toward engineers, all decisions are bottom-up.
We have have monthly cycles. Before a cycle we brainstorm together what features the community and our users are requesting and we decide of the priorities.
Every large project is owned by one engineer and starts with a tech spec where the context, objectives, suggested solutions and milestones are described. It helps gather feedback from the rest of the team.
Every week we kickoff the week and we decide which bugs, large initiative deliverables and small devs we want to complete
- We need to ensure we can build connectors fast and maintain them at scale. All while enabling our community and users to contribute
- We need to be able to scale and distribue replications accros external infrastructures
You would build the transfer layer for our data in order to scale our replication.
You would be build our no/low-code framework to build new connectors
You would build our real time data source (clickstream volume)

The more diverse the views, the more enlightened the decision will be. However, unity in action means for us that we don’t believe in consensus, and that even if you don’t believe in the decision that was made, you must commit to it and give it a chance to succeed. Consensus results in diluted solutions.
Candid collaboration can’t work without humility. Humility means that you’re open minded towards others’ opinions, and let others speak their minds, whatever their role. Leaving our ego at the door means you don't defend a point just to win an argument. We are a team in search of truth, not in search of winning points.
We prioritize progress over perfection. We are thankful towards errors of action, provided we learn and get better. We think of mistakes as the tuition for learning.
Owning a task means you are responsible for anticipating and solving problems. As an owner, you are responsible for overcoming challenges, not your suppliers or other team members. Take the initiative and proactively inform stakeholders when there is something you might not be able to solve.
Assume positive intent. We assume that people have the best intentions, so we assume the positive interpretation of behaviors and feedback, as opposed to the negative one.
Don't let others fail, if you can help. We succeed together. We keep an eye out for others who may be struggling or stuck, and see how we can provide assistance when needed.
As part of our commitment to an inclusive workplace, we are happy to offer prospective engineers the chance to connect with our engineering employees who come from underrepresented backgrounds. It’s a way to get a better sense of our team and what it might be like to work with us.
If you’re interested in connecting with our team, be sure to bring this up during one of our introductory calls!
We encourage our engineers to go to conference, speak to conference and be the ambassadors of Airbyte
We have a team event every Friday. We were born during COVID so most of what we've done as team activity has been online: online escape game, Among Us (We <3 that game!)
Work from Home
We are full remote at the moment so all our processes are compatible with WFH
We provide full medical, dental, vision
We are remote. We have a few moments when we all meet together but otherwise early birds work early and night owl work late
We can do h1b transfer and Green Card applications
That will come... after COVID
