Role Description

We're looking for an experienced frontend engineer to lead the product side of our ground software team. You will be responsible for solving the inherently complex problem of creating a familiar and intuitive user experience to task Albedo's satellites to image the Earth.

What You'll Do

  • Define the ideal customer interaction with Albedo products and build user-facing applications and APIs towards that goal
  • Architect and develop a web-based mapping application and APIs to search, task, subscribe, and order imagery
  • Deliver multiple and incremental prototypes and proof-of-concepts working towards a production-ready state for our first satellite launch
  • Collaborate with customers, the business development team, and other software engineers to ensure a transparent, seamless experience of interacting with imagery products
  • Drive technical and product decisions focused on the long-term vision for the Albedo customer experience
  • Develop internal infrastructure such as analytics dashboards and monitoring systems
  • Interact and collect feedback from customers to continuously improve the customer experience
  • Detect, troubleshoot, and support application and infrastructure issues

Ideal Technical Skills and Experience

  • 5-7+ years of software development experience
  • Robust experience across all phases of building out with multiple cloud-based platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP
  • Experience designing flexible, intuitive, highly-available REST APIs in production environments
  • Previous experience developing a user-facing mapping application using React and popular open-source libraries like Leaflet
  • Knowledge of best practices concerning: cloud and application security, test-driven development (unit and integration), and release management
