Engineering at Altoida

Engineering team and processes

Our engineering team runs 2-week sprints in a scrum system running on jira. Each sprint starts with a meeting to discuss the goals for the current sprint. Code is organized through gitlab and all code is reviewed by a peer before check-in. Each platform has a senior lead engineer that manages QA and production releases. While we use CI/CD we do not continuously push to production. Stories are written by a product manager in cooperation with a product designer and passed to the engineering team via jira at the start of each sprint.

Technical Challenges

Our product is a medical device and the output of the system has real-life effects on patients. Proper data flow through the entire system is therefore of utmost importance.

Projects you might work on
  • Our product is an Android/iOS (both native kotlin/swift) app to run a cognitive test battery. Data analysis happens in a data backend (python), that is managed entirely by a data science team. Data is displayed and presented in a web UI (react) and everything is connected through an API (node.js/typescript). The entire system is mainly hosted on AWS.
