Engineering at Ambra Health
We operate on six week cycles. Each team has a product owner that prioritizes tasks and does regular stand-ups with the team for regular feedback. At the end of each cycle the product owner and engineers do a release report highlighting the features of that sprint. We use a Kanban board and Agile methods. We are in a regulated industry, but we keep the processes streamlined so engineers can do their best work and see it have immediate impact.
We tackle highly time-sensitive processing, storage and retrieval of medical images with petabytes of data and billions of records. On the front end, this is UI that lets doctors find the data relevant for today's visits or review the images for the next patient in the operating room. On the back end it is processing highly complex DICOM data structures efficiently and squeezing optimal performance out of the storage hardware.
Join a small team designing and building a high-performance image transformer to extract image data from the DICOM file and transform it into a compatible format for the web viewer. Work with operations to stand up the service to handle high volume traffic that comes in unpredictable spurts.
Work closely with product owners and subject matter experts to design, build, and test features on a medical image viewer, used by doctors and clinicians for diagnostic and research.
Participate in the design and migration process to move a jQuery-based JavaScript application to React/Redux, creating a core foundation of components and bringing a sophisticated web-based application to a modern architecture.
