This position will be part of the Payment Cryptographic Solutions (PCS) team. The successful candidate will be involved in the architecture, design and development of new payment platform services & infrastructure using Java and related technologies. This is a hands on architecture and engineering role. Performing payment crypto solutions may include any, or all of the following activities:

Senior level professional and technical engineering role Work under general direction of Information Security Director Work with Payment Crypto Architecture team to assist with payment solution implementations Responsible for maturing the HSM management capabilities, and maximizing investment decisions Designing, Architecting, and Implementing a new HSM platform infrastructure for internal, and external, AMEX customers using the Java language and related frameworks Maintain internal documentation library, ensuring process and other documentation is regularly updated to reflect the latest operational processes and requirements. Ensure records are maintained for compliance and historical analysis Prior hands-on experience with one or more core technology stack components within the assigned portfolio, such as relevant frameworks and/or programming languages – Java stack – SpringBoot, Javascript stack - React JS, Node JS. Advanced to authoritative level knowledge and understanding of solution architecture, complex application systems design and platform integration via modern approaches (like RESTful APIs, Event Driven Architecture etc) Ability to perform system design reviews to ensure selection of appropriate technology, efficient use of resources, and alignment to strategic platform roadmaps Experienced level understanding of Agile, SAFE Agile practices Payment industry knowledge including 3DS, EMV, CSC is preferred Prepare materials (reports, presentations, etc.) to enable informed decision making Provide consultation and recommendations to internal business partners, customers and vendors in encryption and key management activities and projects Will require some work activities during non-business hours (evenings and weekends during maintenance windows) to support change management activities As part of our diverse tech team, you can architect, code and ship software that makes us an essential part of our customers’ digital lives. Strong knowledge of Java and Java frameworks Understanding of symmetric and asymmetric cryptography concepts and technologies Experience in Information Security and Cryptography capabilities Knowledge and experience working with Distributed Key Management System (DKMS), and other Centralized Key Management Systems Strong interpersonal skills to work with varied constituencies Strong analytical, communication, problem solving, and organization skills Demonstrated ability to prioritize and handle multiple concurrent assignments with strong attention to details Educational requirement: Holds a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems (or equivalent hands on work experience Preferred Additional: Knowledge and experience with any of the following technologies: PGP Encryption, X.509 Certificate management, Hardware Security Modules (HSMs – Thales, Safenet, Utimaco Knowledge and experience with zOS / Mainframe security applications a plus, as well as security frameworks, standards, guidelines and best practices (i.e. PCI, ISO, COBIT, FFIEC, SOX)
