Our mission is simple – to automate and enrich customer service interactions using voice-based conversational AI agents. To achieve this goal, we’ve taken an ambitious technical approach leveraging proprietary, neuroscience-inspired mechanisms for learning and memory. The result are systems that grow their communication skill in a manner similar to the way children acquire language – by continually learning from interactions with users and incrementally building on simple-to-complex findings.

Engineering team and processes

We have been extremely busy and all of our engineers are currently doing many things, including pushing code nearly everyday, several times a day. Our engineers also perform testing, bugs are filed into FreshDesk and Jira. We have meetings every Monday and Wednesday to update and assign tasks.

Technical Challenges

Our team builds AI for clients in the fast food industry. There are many ways to order any or multiple items. We have had to figure out how to accomplish orders when a customer orders by stating only, just, and plain. We have also had to work closely with our client to assist in perfecting their menu so it is compatible for AI technology.

Projects you might work on
  • It has been very exciting to work with well known clients and figure out how to incorporate their POS and API with our technology. Figuring out issues with how customers order items, issues with what items are on the menu and also incorporation of multi-lane drive-thru ordering.

The team is diverse and easy going. We are pretty fair with WFH when needed, however, our deadlines can be pretty harsh. We all help one another and though everyone has an opinion, we are all respectful. There are sometimes hugs in the morning and whiskey on Friday afternoons.

    Our vacation policy is unlimited, but, of course, needs approval. I do not believe anyone has been told, no.

    We have lunch delivered on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from EatClub, where you can order your lunch 5 days in advance. When we do not have lunch delivered, some team members go out to lunch together or eat what we have in the office, which is a variety of deli meats: turkey, chicken, ham, roast beef and salmon. This goes along with guacamole, cheese, pickles, bread or bagels. Itamar, our CEO, also has a sweet tooth and makes himself feel less guilty by purchasing wonderful fresh baked pastries from a French bakery right down the street about once every week or two for the entire team to share. Linda, the operations manager, will now and then make the team breakfast. We also have PLENTY of snacks, including, chips, jerky, cookies, nuts, dried fruits, Oreos, Nutter Butters, Oloves, Nutella with breadsticks and much more.

    Many of our team members have traveled to Chicago to meet and work with one of our clients.

  • Pet Friendly

    Just recently, Linda's new dog has been coming to the office once a week. Cocoa loves pets and belly rubs. As long as she is well-behaved, she will continue to come to the office.

    Our office is in a fantastic location. We are right on Castro in Downtown Mountain View. We are near many restaurants and will celebrate with all you can eat and drink when accomplishing a milestone.

  • Team Activities

    We have had our team bonding events at restaurants nearby and even had one that was really fun at Shoreline Lakes. We were very competitive with our kayak soccer and Jenga. The staff stated we were so much fun as most teams do not get into the games very much, however, everyone was soaked during that event, even if not all of us fell in the lake.

  • Transportation

    We provide reimbursement if taking the Caltrain to work. If driving, we also provide yearly parking permits for our lot in Downtown Mountain View.

  • Work from Home

    There are some days where we just aren't feeling well and the team gets that. Though we would rather have a teammate in office, there are also many needs for health and family where we cannot be in office.

  • Other

    Apprente swag: t-shirt, laptop bag, drawstring bag and a nice North Face Apprente fleece.

    We all each have our own 34-inch curved monitor to work on at the office.
