Four billion people do not have access to the internet. Astranis is going to change that. We are building the next generation of smaller, lower-cost telecommunications satellites to bring the world online.
Join us and work with top engineers who have flown things in space before. We are a well-funded team that moves fast.
Our team consists of the smartest people you've ever worked with.
We are building something that is extremely technically challenging, and we have the resources to attack that challenge at full speed.
We are solving a truly important problem. Four billion people do not have access to the internet today — meaning they can't access information about health, education, human rights, basic financial services, agriculture, world news, and all other aspects of human knowledge. We are going to change that.
The Astranis engineering team is largely structured by part of the spacecraft and discipline (flight software, controls, bus electrical, software defined radio, microwave, mechanical). Although people work most closely with other members of their team, there is regular cross interaction between teams. We are a small team with a lot to get done, so even the most junior members of the team get a ton of responsibility.
We are building a spacecraft that is comprised of many different subsystems that must work together in a highly integrated fashion and work in an extreme environment and have high reliability and uptime. This premise manifests into many interesting technical challenges on all systems of the spacecraft.
Details of the spacecraft cannot be disclosed, but engineers at Astranis take designs (application software module, electronic board, board support driver package, electronic module, mechanism, or structure) from initial concept through to deployment to hardware in space.
We are a team of people who are simultaneously extremely smart and extremely nice. We work hard, but we make time to do fun activities and get to know each other. We have a love of learning, and as a very multidisciplinary team we are always learning from each other.
