Engineering at Axiad IDS
We have 3 high performing engineering teams in Bay Area, California; Ottawa, Canada and Hyderabad, India. We follow Agile methodology and our processes are heavily automated through Jira.
Given there is lot of R&D we do (sometime more R than D in some areas), it is not possible to talk about it in open forum - but we focus on challenges of delivering security to large enterprises by balancing the user experience and ultimately adoption of secure practices by employees of our customers.
On the Cloud side our mantra is automate -> review -> automate. We started as a small team and without automation we would not have been where we are today. We work with all the standard leading edge tools in the AWS space - and we still need to do more ...
We have Mobile Apps and lot of front end portals (React, React Native - yes) as well and we are working on some ground breaking integrations ...
On of our core product is developed using Java, Springboot and that too is undergoing evolution and lots to be done there too...
Given we are security company, you knowledge in HSMs, PKI etc. is always valued!

We are SOC2 compliant and everything we do has to be aligned with our security policy but that does not mean we do not have fun!
Given we are a company of around 50 employees, we are proud to be able to have such a diverse team - driven directly from top, with employees from France, Germany, England, Australia, Canada and India to name a few. Having teams and offices in different countries has also added to that diversity at Axiad. We have organically matured our company this way - and we are thankful and enjoy the different perspectives, culture and knowledge each of our employees has to bring.
As we continue to grow, we want to continue to maintain this diversity and also hope to be able to bring more women into Axiad too.
Given the changes of 2020, we have had to experiment and try new things to uphold the culture we have built at Axiad. From virtual happy hours, weekly ‘take a break’ emails, team playlists to creating a employee Christmas video, we have certainly tried to keep the teams engaged so they still feel supported and part of the team.
We continue to learn and become better in terms of working remotely and building upon our all-inclusive culture of learning, making mistakes and growing!
We have worked closely with employees to ensure they are set up to work at home and have the right equipment to continue doing their job.
