Lottery savings is the #1 savings vehicle in the UK, with over $100bn in deposits and 23 million depositors (35% of the country). There are 187 million adults in the U.S with a bank account, and offering a lottery savings was legalized in the U.S in 2015
In South Africa, lottery savings was so successful that the national lottery board shut it down because it was cannibalizing lottery sales. It reached 2% of the population in under 3 years. This same legal risk is no longer an issue in the U.S.
We are currently building the MVP using a team of two freelancers (one backend and one frontend). We have no processes at this point! This hire (a co-founder hire) would be in charge of all things technology, establishing our processes and setting the engineering culture. This hire would also be involved in every major company decision.
We deal with many third party APIs handling people's money (Plaid, Synapse, etc). Security is of utmost important in dealing with this. We also have HQ Trivia type features on the roadmap, with potential live streams down the road and other fun, gamification features like that.
Our product has to be built to spread. We plan to incorporate many social / viral features in the app.
You would lead all things technology and have ownership over establishing processes for the company

The culture has yet to be set. I've been working with freelancers so far and am the only one full-time at the moment. We will set the culture together.
