As cities across the globe grow, so does our need for greater mobility. We’re facing more pollution and congestion than ever before. The near-term solution is partnering with cities to rebalance our existing streets and improve the way we get around—we need to remove cars from the road and make our cities more livable.

Who we are: We’re a mission driven company attempting to replace car trip, remove cars from the road and make cities more livable. We reduce traffic, parking problems, and cut carbon emissions by providing shareable electric scooters that are affordable, convenient, and eco-friendly. We started in Santa Monica, but now we operate in over 100 cities around the globe. We are a high-growth, Sequoia backed, start up. We’re the innovators of micro-mobility and the most creative, solutions-oriented company in the industry. We’ve only just begun our journey of bringing new transportation modalities to cities across the globe.
Some of our benefits: We want people to succeed at Bird, so we give our teams open time off to relax and recharge. We also offer a generous employer-paid healthcare coverage, on-demand doctor visits, childcare support, a pre-tax commuter account for mass transit or parking, a wellness stipend, and subsidized lunches, ride credits, parental benefits, and much more.
Bird stands for a culture of inclusion. We celebrate different backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives and we believe great ideas can come from anywhere in the organization. We encourage everyone to bring their authentic selves to work and empower our teams to feel comfortable when they voice their opinions. For these reasons and more Bird is a proud equal employment opportunity employer. We welcome everyone regardless of their race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, or genetics, and we are dedicated to providing an inclusive, open, and diverse work environment.
At Bird, the engineering team mission is to provide technology solutions that power the success of the company. To this end, we have built a team and a culture that moves fast and relishes the challenges of this ever-evolving new mode of shared mobility. We embrace obstacles and openly learn from our failures. We work to deliver a magical rider experience, support and inform local governments, and create an operational model that empowers local communities.
We organize our developers into “mission” teams, or cross-functional teams guided by a small (but important) set of KPIs that dictate our business performance. In turn, each team is empowered to create strategies and tactics to positively influence those KPIs and then deliver on those commitments. We work on a one-week iteration cycle and deploy new software at an incredibly fast pace. Although still nimble and swift, we deliver incredible solutions with a high quality of craft.
Our platform manages thousands of connected vehicles every day across the globe. We support a variety of mobile experience for riders, chargers, team members, and partners. Our services are required to be highly available and highly scalable. To support these, we create data pipelines that power advanced ML, realtime events, and auditing for all our operational requirements.
We're an ambitious, smart, and open-minded group. Our team members are passionate about our mission, and eager to complete their work at the highest level. The office itself is up-tempo and supportive, because we care about each other. People first, people.
