BlueCargo
BlueCargo’s mission is to help people move goods from marine ports to first-mile destination faster, more reliably, and cost-effectively. We provide local trucking companies data backed software to support operations by enabling smart and efficient move of containers.
We are a well-funded LA-based startup founded by two female entrepreneurs graduated from Y Combinator.
Each day, 500+ dispatchers trust BlueCargo’s platform to move their freight.

Why join us?
We have product market fit, 500+ dispatchers trust us daily and no churn!
We are pre Series-A, looking for a lead engineer to be at the core of the team, have a high impact and grow with us
Engineering at BlueCargo
Our product development team is composed by a product manager (one of the two co-founders), a product designer and the engineering team. We use a Kanban process to stay agile and flexible on new priorities and customer feedback. We still operate on two week cycles and each cycle ends with a demo meeting where each engineer can show off the work they've completed. We use Pull Request on GitHub to conduct code reviews and have a QA engineer to help validate quality and conduct regression test on the product.
We are building an unprecedented scrapping tool in the supply chain industry to gather data from hundreds of website every 5 minutes. The engineering team challenges every day on building a powerful, scalable, fast and reliable engine to then push data to customers.
You would get to work on the architecture of the app to overtake the above challenge.
You would build and participate in the creation of the next version of the platform that will be an operational tool to optimise trips of a trucking company. It's really a role of product engineer to help the rest of the product team make the good choices.
You would help refacto the processes to improve how engineers work: CI/CD, pull requests, deployment strategy, different environnements (testing, QA, staging and prod), etc.
Working at BlueCargo
Think big... There is no such thing as impossible! We don’t stay in our comfort zone, we take up challenges and evolve. Because believing a solution paves the way to solution, we want to believe we can reach the highest levels.
...Act small Bias for action - Because the number of iterations we are able to make in a fixed period of time, will define our probability to make it. The best way to know if a solution is working is to do it and test it.
So we are looking for the following personal qualities : - Autonomous [must have] : knows how to prioritize & how to handle his time. - Start-up engineering mindset / Adaptation : knows when to build fast and when to build to scale without overengineering. Adapts quickly to changing priorities and conditions. - Efficiency : able to produce significant output with minimal effort. Knows how to work under some time pressure & deadlines. - Logic : engineer mindset, scientific way to solve problems. - Strong communication skills : need to be a very good communicant, people-person, good relation and fit with all the product & tech team + founders

Work from Home
We are pretty flexible on work from home and have an office in Los Angele for important meetings and gatherings (it should be at least two days per week at the office). We encourage working as a team at the office, but we care about the flexibility and happiness of the team.
