Engineering team and processes

We're a small pair of engineers. We're looking for full-time engineer #2 to work closely with the Head of Engineering, the CTO/CPO splits his time between technical and product but is involved writing code as well.

We use common tools: PR review process on github (it's a high empathy & open learning exercise), for our kanban board, we're currently doing loose sprints, but checking in weekly (planning/retro). We've been working full-time just this calendar year, so light on process. A great place for experienced people. Product team is on planning discussions and we bring in contract design when needed, and we talk to customers regularly, engineers are encouraged to listen in or watch recordings to better understand who we're building for.

Technical Challenges

We have a product that has a lot of historical data, but we aim to provide simple outputs for people who are busy with other things and not looking for to be financial experts. We want the hard work to be hidden away as we synchronize behind the scenes, but communicate easy, small outputs directed at their focused problems & questions.

Projects you might work on
  • We're always adding new data sources - more data integrations will be an ongoing regular occurrence - always a project or two of this sort to be done (we have 3 top of mind right now and one currently being added).

  • We have a great new design (that includes much better user onboarding!) and have started implementing it - but it's not done. We need more hands on deck and this would be such a great project win to work on!

  • We have a number of financial analyses that we want to do - there is always more here. Currently, we're working on the first screen of a set of features that comprise a visibility dashboard - these involve fullstack from new (and complex) SQL queries to backend algorithms to frontend data visualization.
