At eatsa, we are working to revolutionize restaurants through innovative technology and design. We believe that everyone deserves access to better food, better dining experiences and to have a little more magic in their day.

We are focused on an industry that is ripe for change – the $900 Billion restaurant industry. Our unique, world-class team combines software and hardware engineers, designers and restaurant operations experts to push the boundaries on re-engineering every aspect of the business. We've created a one of a kind product, customer experience, and back-of-house operation platform to empower and delight customers and operators alike.

Customers, restaurant partners, investors, and media have responded with overwhelming enthusiasm. As we enter an aggressive growth phase, we are looking for motivated, talented folks to join us in making this critical change!

  • We are working with some of the biggest restaurant brands in the world, which means the technology you're building will be used by their MILLIONS of customers (if you like food, strong chance you'll be one of them).

Engineering at Brightloom

Engineering team and processes

Our engineering team works in a scrum process with two week sprints that start with a planning session at the beginning of the sprint and end with a demo where engineers are encouraged to show off what they worked on and a retro to review how the sprint went so that we can continuously improve. All code is reviewed by a peer through a Github pull request. Anytime you touch code at eatsa we ask that you leave it better than you found it.

We're striving for better test coverage, more automation, and safer coding standards. We want to spend our time developing great new features, not fixing bugs that a test could have caught.

Technical Challenges

We're building a full stack user experience, at eatsa this means we actually build our own hardware that our customers will run in their stores. To build the best experience our platform needs to be interconnected with all of the other services that run in a restaurant today. Then we need to scale this platform so that it can be deployed to thousands of restaurants worldwide which will service millions of customers.

On the client side, we're building an application that can be deployed to millions of users across dozens of partners. Every partner has different needs, so our application is very data-driven.

Projects you might work on
  • You would get to build an API endpoint that will be used by all of our partners to place a new order in our system.

  • You would get to build a flexible UI system that allows new partners to represent their menu and customer experience within our app, without needing to rewrite our entire app.
