Cardless is a credit card company. We help brands launch custom cobrand credit card products. We handle the program creation, card underwriting, lending, issuance, and top-notch customer service, while brands focus on delivering rewards truly valuable to their superfan cardholders.
We're early stage and growing! Currently a team of 12 with 5 engineers and actively interviewing for several open roles.
Our team comes from top schools (Stanford, CMU, Amherst), interesting tech companies (Lyft, Uber, Brex and Airbnb) and a wide variety of personal and professional experience.
We offer autonomy, growth and independence while providing the support and resources to help get you there.
Our structure is currently pretty flat - all engineers report to our co-founder. We are using scrum, agile, and sprints and have an overall engineering roadmap.
We’re building a financial system, so getting it right is of the utmost importance to our brand partners and end users. That is always at the top of mind when we design our system - we are building a highly scalable, robust system from the start to ensure that the engineering team can handle our business needs as we grow.
We have an engineering design template for new services and features, followed by design reviews. We do code reviews. The change will be automatically deployed to staging for testing once it's merged, and manually deployed to production every week.
Cardless adopts modern micro-service architecture and cloud-native infrastructure so you don’t need to worry about common tech startup issues like working in a toe-stepping monolithic repo and migration hell later on.
“It has been an amazing onboarding experience for me. Before joining Cardless, I had worked at Uber for 5 years and witnessed countless migrations and infrastructural changes there. I’m super glad to see that Cardless is trying its best to avoid those tech pitfalls and embrace the state-of-art stacks like kubernetes, enovy, protobuffers, and micro-service architecture.” -Zichuan Wang, Software Engineer
