Cedar is a patient payment and engagement platform that elevates the total patient experience beyond clinical care. Our technology improves the overall experience of patient billing and engagement, enabling healthcare providers to thrive in a rapidly changing environment while helping patients understand the cost of their care.
Most revenue cycle solutions today look at only one or two transactional aspects of patient payments. We believe that the focus instead should be on improving the overall experience of patient billing and engagement.
Together with the leading medical groups and hospitals across the country, we are elevating the patient payment experience. To learn more, visit www.cedar.com.
Meaningful mission. We are working to help people through the tangled mess of our health-care system. Who can't relate to that?
Brilliant team. We have a diverse group of talented, experienced engineers, consultants, partnership experts and patient advocates, working together in a collegial and collaborative culture to build great solutions.
Commitment to diversity. We have a culture focused on DE&I and we back it up. Over 30% of our engineering team is female. We offer opportunities to express ideas, volunteer, get involved as a DE&I
Champion, and through hosting monthly meetings open to everyone at Cedar. We encourage team member feedback on how we can continue to improve and show our commitment to a diverse and inclusive environment.
Experienced leadership. Cedar's Cofounders come from ZocDoc and AppNexus, and we're backed by some of the best investors in the industry, including Thrive Capital and Founders Fund.
Exciting prospects. We're currently live with over a dozen healthcare providers, and have pilots lined up with multi-billion-dollar health systems. Our customers tell us that we have found a real need and they love our product.
Awesome opportunities. Because we’re still a young company, we’re always growing and changing. When you work with us, you’ll have the opportunity to learn and experience new things, every single day.
Exponential growth. We're a high-growth company at an early stage - millions of patients served, growing 5-10x YoY!
Our engineering team operates with a relatively flat structure and a focus on collaboration through sharing ideas and solutions. This means our engineers get exposure to our entire product while having the opportunity to work with everyone across the engineering team. We strongly believe that regardless of experience or 'seniority' everyone has something to learn from everyone else and that an ego-free approach leads to a truly satisfying work environment and ultimately a better solution for our customers where our work represents the best of us. Today, engineers can wear the hats that let them solve problems for clients most effectively. That can involve interfacing with clients, product managers, designers, and other members of the engineering team.
Our goal is empower members of our team to take ownership of engineering and product problems. With a smaller engineering team and a quickly evolving product, we value flexibility and pragmatism in our processes. We value code review, with all pull requests going under two pairs of eyes on GitHub prior to merging. While we acknowledge that it's no silver bullet, we have a keen focus on testing and our wide and deep coverage has enabled us to build our product with significant velocity. Whenever potentially business-critical issues arise, we do a full post-mortem and share the outcomes across the team to maximize learning and minimize the frequency and scale of future issues. We have regular huddles so everyone knows what everyone else is working on as well as to discuss broader team-wide issues.
Every quarter, we take a day out of the schedule to review our team structure, processes and tools to ensure that we're ready to tackle the expected and unexpected challenges that come our way in the coming months.
We're using machine learning to build a decision engine for managing patient engagement. This engine has to handle the extreme complexities of the medical billing cycle as well as the many different circumstances that patients face. A big challenge for us is building a system that is able to drive improved performance across multiple, sometimes competing, objectives: improving patient satisfaction whilst also increasing collection rates for providers.
Building an intelligent experimentation platform to optimize patient engagement.
Working directly with our clients (hospitals and other healthcare providers) to apply modern technology to the problems they face on a daily basis.
Our company culture centers around our four key values:
Focus On Our Vision,
Use Good Judgement, and
Be Positive. We seek to foster a culture in which individuals are empowered to take ownership and action, while holding our work output and the problems we choose to focus on to a high bar. While we may be an early-stage startup, we take a long-term view towards our product, process, and engineering decisions.
Our office is located in the heart of Soho.
We provide lunch for the team daily.
Unlimited vacation policy - we're all adults, take the time when you need it.
Each year we schedule a retreat that gets us out of the office and out of the city! It’s a great opportunity to get to know everyone at Cedar in a casual setting. You have chances to interact with people you don’t work with everyday.
Game nights, happy hours, birthday celebrations, movie nights, daily puzzles, and many more!
Our engineers use their good judgement to work from home when they need to.
Discounts on gym memberships.
