Engineering team and processes

We want to give everyone on the team the freedom and control to determine their own best working schedule and work style, so for that reason, we do not have synchronous meetings or set working hours.

However in order to do this, we have to be extremely strategic about how we collaborate. That is why, we really pride ourselves in our ability to communicate effectively and clearly over video or shared documents. This first take-home assignment will be very similar to how you will be working on projects with the actual team. You will be given context and details about what is needed, and we trust each individual to make the best decision for the team. We want to trust you to be able to make decisions and explain the trade-offs that you considered.

Technical Challenges

We're building financial software that finance and business operations leaders can use to make the most important decisions for their business. So, we have to be extremely smart about how we calculate things, we have to be super accurate, and we have to make sure we are always building trust with our users!

Projects you might work on
  • You would participate in a review with one of our lighthouse customers where they would describe how they'd want to run a meeting based on the metrics they get from Chiffer, and you would work with our designer to craft a solution that would help them and future customers.

  • You would work on building our integration with stripe connect to get customers' billing data, and help them connect it to their CRM data to get a full picture of where their billing is working and where it's not.

  • You would work on improving our database and queries to make the responsiveness and speediness of our app snappier.
