Software Engineer - Webex Metrics and Tooling

What You’ll Do

The Cisco Cloud Collaboration and WebEx Meetings Engineering team is seeking a Cloud Software Engineer who will play a critical role in development of tools and software to ensure a high level of user experience of our Collaboration microservices.

You'll learn how we design and operate a massive, global cloud service that hosts millions of meeting attendees each day, and you'll be a key member of the team helping to continuously improve it. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following; Build and maintain a framework for end-to-end metrics that provide deep insights into the operation of Webex meetings. These metrics are used to continually iterate and improve the product and may be exposed to customers. Develop software and/or tools to assess customer WebEx Meetings user experience using Python and Scala. Analyze data using Apache Spark, Hadoop, ELK and visualize it in tools like Splunk and Qlik. Respond to incident escalations and engage the proper engineering teams. Work along with operations on postmortems and action items.


BS degree in Computer Science or related technical field involving coding (e.g., physics or mathematics), or equivalent practical experience. Experience with algorithms, data structures, complexity analysis and software design Experience with one or more of the following programming languages: Java, Scala, Python, C++ Interest in designing, analyzing and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems. Systematic problem-solving approach, coupled with strong communication skills and a sense of ownership and drive. Ability to debug and optimize code and automate routine tasks.
