Our web platform helps patients access clinical trials holding the newest treatment options. We get to make a tangible, often life-changing (sometimes life-saving) difference in the lives of our users today, and our work helps bring new medicines to market to help millions of people in the future.
We're funded by top VCs/angels including Khosla Ventures and Founders Fund.
Our platform is helping real patients access new treatments every day. From hand-written letters to social media posts about how we've helped, we're always humbled to see evidence of how we've helped make a difference in the lives of our users.
Our platform has brought 4x increased performance to accelerate clinical trial timelines for clients, helping bring new treatments to patients even faster.
Our team has run early marketing campaigns for Lyft, Zynga, and Twitter, brought the patient voice into the heart of decision making as advisors for Johnson&Johnson, started Ph.D. programs at 16, become Thiel Fellows, Forbes 30 under 30 inductees, and won national startup pitch competitions.
Team: Our team currently includes one engineer, his name is Eric, and he says hi!
Ops: There's a casual reporting structure directly to the co-founders, Sol and Evan. Biweekly sprints are all currently owned and managed by Eric, while weekly planning and (re)prioritization sessions are held on Monday mornings with Eric, Evan, Sol and whoever else on the team wants to bring a problem or idea to the table for consideration. As more senior engineers join the team it's expected that these responsibilities will shift. New engineers have the opportunity to take ownership of most all parts of product implementation, from frontend to backend to devops to design.
Our team highly values the directly responsible individual model, where a single decision maker has the
final say with responsibility for the success of the given initiative falling to them. The decision maker is responsible for listening to all perspectives and using collaboration to effectively leverage our team's diverse domain knowledge. Effective communication and fast paced adjustments are paramount in our processes.
Rapid Iteration: We're rapidly testing and learning new things, so there's always lots of change and a need to be quick to adapt. You still need to think before taking action, but be comfortable being able to communicate ideas and thoughts to both product and business teammates before being able to fully research the entire problem and solution spaces. We expect mistakes and adjustments to happen, that’s part of how we work.
Working Together: Own your abilities - these define your role more than anything else. Bring what you can to the table, expect the same from the people around you, and appreciate their perspective. This isn’t a set of challenges or competitions: it’s a puzzle and we’re the puzzle pieces. Figure out how to use what you can of what others bring, and figure out what you can provide so that others can do the same for the things they own.
You would work on creating a workflow that characterizes a user's profile of medical information to make more relevant recommendations for potentially matching treatment options in clinical trials without invasively disrupting a user's experience on our platform.
You would work on optimizing a natural language workflow that allows for a more detailed and also intuitive clinical trials searching process for patients, enabling non-experts to conduct advanced searches on over 50,000 treatments in clinical trials.
Our team is extremely mission-driven. Knowing that everything we do impacts the lives of patients who are seeking new treatments today, and those who are waiting for new treatment approvals in the future, drives us.
We're collaborative both within and across departments with an emphasis on individual ownership and responsibilities. We believe that every individual should be given the chance to constantly expand the range and difficulty of the challenges they own, while still feeling safe at their limit. Our belief is that the most appropriate people should always be working on the most important problems, regardless of what it does to the organization chart.
We know that people are people, both in and out of work. We'll understand, support, and collaborate with you to meet the unique circumstances of the life you lead, helping you reach your highest goals, and working in the manner that best fits the life you want for yourself.
