Engineering at Clyde
Our engineering teams work in two-week sprints. We do pointing sessions towards the end of each sprint so our sprint planning/kickoffs can be focused and quick. Engineers work closely with product and QA to make sure that we’re delivering the right solutions for our customers.
We try to optimize for focus time by cutting down on unnecessary meetings. Code reviews are done asynchronously through pull requests and branch protections but any engineer can request a code review session if they think a feature merits it.
We release on a two week cycle - to our staging environment immediately after the completion of a sprint and to production a week later.
Delivering a best-in-class product requires continuous iteration and innovation. We're in a competitive space where we constantly need to be forward thinking and use our time wisely in order to hold on to our position at the top.
More specifically/technically - our API currently handles over 8 million requests per day and we live on merchant's product pages where it's necessary to load fast so that the customer experience isn't disturbed. As we continue to get more merchants onto the Clyde platform we'll need to be smart about how we scale.
Updating our widget which lives on third party merchant sites to include code from a partner company and analytics around performance so we can prove through data why they should be working with Clyde.
Adding a feature to our end customer facing claims flow to allow claims payouts via Venmo and PayPal - no more waiting for an insurance company to mail you a check.
