Codecademy
Codecademy is an education company. But not one in the way you might think. We're committed to building the best learning experience inside and out, making Codecademy the best place for our team to learn, teach, and create the online learning experience of the future.
Education is old. The current public school system in the US dates back to the 19th century and wasn't designed to scale the way it has. Lots of companies are working to disrupt
education by changing the way things work in the classroom and by bringing the classroom online.

Why join us?
Disrupting a huge market — Education is broken, and we're trying to fix it. The traditional education model cannot keep up with the rapid changes in technology. Our market is limitless and can have a net positive impact on the lives of every single user from n00bz to professional engineers in their journey to always be learning. At the end of the day, we're striving to make Codecademy as globally accessible as possible to help people get the jobs they want. We're not only after education but giving our users economic mobility and access to course material and content they otherwise wouldn't have.
Positive impact on the world — We are rethinking education from the bottom up. The web has rethought nearly everything - commerce, social networking, healthcare, and more. We are building the education the world needs - the first truly net native education. We take more cues from Facebook and Zynga in creating an engaging educational experience than we do from the classroom. Education is broken. Come help us build the education the world deserves.
Invest in your learning — We're firm believers in lifelong learning. All employees receive unlimited access to the Codecademy course offerings as well as a professional development and conference annual budget.
Engineering at Codecademy
- Scale our platform which currently supports 45M users, to be able to handle over 10x as much traffic using Chef and Docker

- Push the limits of the LE to be able to teach courses beyond web development (think data science, mobile, and beyond!)
- Help us build out a mobile component to give even more accessibility to our users
- Internationalization - help us figure out how to ensure that users from both domestically and abroad have the same beautiful learning experience, without sacrificing performance
- Data - we have tons of it. Help us analyze every little bit to make the Codecademy platform even more amazing
