Codi is a two-sided marketplace for working out of homes during the day. Hosts supplement their rent and expenses by monetizing their home office space through sharing, and guests gain access to convenient, productive, professional workspaces in their neighborhood. We look forward to a future in which every worker's commute is no more than a 15 minute walk from home!
Why join us?
Now that more companies have adopted work-from-home policies, companies and remote employees are looking for new work-from-home options and solutions. We provide a solution for remote workers work outside of their homes, in order to avoid distractions and improve productivity, but still maintain a very short commute and proper social distancing.
We have an amazing team of A players.
We closed our round of seed funding just before the COVID-19 shelter in place began, so we have enough runway to thrive in the post-coronavirus remote work boom.
Engineering at Codi
We currently have just one engineer, the CTO. We also have a talented Product Manager who was formerly at Lyft, and an extremely talented designer with experience from Google and Apple. We conduct 2-week sprints and use Jira. We maintain a public-facing web site, a mobile app for iOS and Android, and an employee-only admin web site.
We are building a two-sided marketplace, so there is a fair balance of back-end (e.g., pricing, messaging) and front-end (e.g., providing beautiful UX/UI and removing friction for our users) problems to solve.
We recently added a new Head of Design to our team, and we are currently building out
Codi 2.0in the front end (ReactJS). We will also be redesigning elements of our mobile app (React Native) experience.
We will be revamping the pricing model in the coming months, as well as building out enterprise pilots with medium and large-sized companies.
As we learn more from our customers, we will discover new challenges. Build -> Learn -> Iterate.
Working at Codi
We are a small, scrappy team. Our Engineering team is completely remote, other members of the team work together in Codis in SF when possible. We communicate transparently and often over Slack. We have daily standups, and we favor process over meetings. We offer flexibility with responsibility, respecting each other's lifestyles and being transparent about our availability.
Codi has an unlimited vacation policy.
As long as there's enough time overlap for effective collaboration, the specific working hours are not important.
We offer group health insurance plans and cover a portion of them.
Work from Home
Engineers at Codi are free to work from wherever they feel most productive.
