Role Description

DealTeam - Front End Engineer (Remote)

DealTeam is a private community for senior investment professionals (Limited Partners, General Partners, Family Offices, Emerging Managers) to intimately share ideas, collaborate, and form profitable relationships. There is strict vetting of each member, rich profiles, messaging, and engaging discussions.

To fulfill our mission we are now hiring a handful of roles to accelerate our efforts building the world’s best community of professional investors and thinkers.

The Role

We are seeking a front end engineer whose interest and skills center on web development and building a world class customer experience.

This role is unique because we are still very early in product development. While we have launched our initial cohort of users, there is still much to build in order to deliver our customers a powerful community experience.

Why this is such a good job:

This is a job for an engineer who loves hard challenges, wants the potential upside of startup, but not the core risks of one. Here’s what the job offers:

Autonomy: We are hiring someone who wants the challenge of building remarkable web and mobile applications. The only way that is possible is to give you lots of control. Our team will of course be a part of the process as prime users, and we have no shortage of ideas or suggestions.

Support: Our engineering team excels at building high quality products quickly. As a front end engineer, you’ll have the benefit of working with our growing team so that you can focus on building a revolutionary application for users. You will also get access to world class business knowledge from other members on our team.

Upside: Our compensation package for this role will include a competitive salary and profit sharing (in a business that is already profitable). We also offer high quality healthcare, dental, vision, and 401k benefits.

Security: We funded the business ourselves and are financially self-sustaining.

An Early Foot in the Door: In our opinion, this is the most important feature of the job. This is a chance to be one of the first engineers at a company that’s already off to a great start with incredible future potential.

Requirements:

Must be interested in the intersection of business/investing and education, because that is our focus. We will gauge this curiosity carefully. Must be curious, hard working, and equipped with a team-first attitude. Must have experience building web applications using React/Typescript, CSS, or equivalent native technologies. Must have a deep understanding of the internet and http protocol. Must be capable of following industry best practices with application structure, state management, and separation of concerns. Bonus points if you have experience with Python/Django or have contributed to any open source projects.
