COMBiNATi is democratizing digital PCR for doctors and researchers to easily, accurately, and precisely track disease-relevant biomarkers that were previously too hard to find/follow over time. The innovative platform technology has won us four Small Business Innovative Research grants from the National Institute of Health, and three issued patents. We are a quickly growing team commercializing this game-changing diagnostic technology with strong industry support. We launched our first product, the Absolute Q Digital PCR platform, for COVID-19 viral load quantification in patients and in wastewater. We are also partnering with ThermoFisher and Luminex for cancer patient monitoring.

Engineering at COMBiNATi

Engineering team and processes

We have an Agile development environment with the aim of user testing features as soon as possible. Off-site consultants coordinate development through Pull Requests on GitHub. All engineers are encouraged to contribute to the UI design with mock ups created before development.

Technical Challenges

Real-time analysis of images from our instrument as it runs. Displaying plots and graphics with tens of thousands of data points. Presenting scientific data in a clear and understandable format.

Projects you might work on

  • Add significant new features to a data analysis web app before initial release.

  • Optimize the on-prem version of a web app using Electron.

  • Develop a Javascript application to edit instrument Protocols and show the current instrument status.
