CrownThrown, Inc. is building a democratized sports franchise ownership platform. We’re providing a classic ownership and investment vehicle that enables fans to share in the financial success of a sports franchise. Our flagship league, The Crown League, will be a national fantasy football league that will launch in September 2019. Our vision is to branch out to other fantasy sports (NBA, MLB, etc.), eSports and traditional sports in the future.

Modern high-rise 11th floor office in the heart of downtown San Francisco. Situated a block from BART and literally right next to the trans-bay terminal.
Well-known sports personalities have already signed on. Huge barrier to entry as we corner the market on talent.
We're only beginning with fantasy football. We're actively looking at applying our platform towards eSports and other traditional sports as well.
Engineering at Crownthrown, Inc.
We have a flat structure where all the developers will report to the CTO. We'll re-evaluate the structure as we grow. From a process perspective, we run two-week sprints with daily stand-ups. Our story estimates are done in time units as it helps everyone calibrate more effectively. Being a young organization, our developers will play a large hand in the process' evolution.
From a technical standpoint, the challenge for us would be building a system that is a hybrid of content-driven and social. There are many moving parts that require thoughtful design and focused execution. The biggest challenge from a product perspective is to create something that makes sports fans viscerally feel that they are owners of a sports franchise. We want to be device-first (phone+tablet) with the eye towards a more robust web presence over time (probably not in year one).
We need to create a hybrid content & social mobile application. This app will also be responsible for fostering a sense of community among the fans, owners, and celebrity-level general managers. The major features will be content display / streaming, community messaging, and weekly contests for monetary prizes.
We will need to integrate with a third-party fantasy football management systems and data feeds. This will mostly be back-end / API-level work.
We need to integrate with a third party to provide our end-users the ability to buy and sell shares of our sports franchises. This is likely a web-based solution to start with the eye towards rolling into the mobile experience mid-to-late season.
We'll integrate a third-party headless CMS. This is a critical piece that will enable our non-technical content team to be able to publish articles and videos into our mobile app.

We're a veteran leadership team with a scrappy mindset. Collectively, we have seen almost everything there is to see in the world of start-ups. IPOs, buyouts, mergers, and failures. We understand the rigors of start-up life and take a
marathon, not a sprint mentality.
We provide full medical, dental, and vision coverage.
