Curology
Curology is revolutionizing dermatology by making effective skincare accessible to everyone. We help real people get medical care previously accessible to only a tiny percentage of the population.
Our consumer-facing React app powers 1:1 chats with real dermatology providers and enables users to engage with a vibrant community. After signing up, each customer receives a customized formula shipped directly to their door.

Why join us?
Real impact – Work on a product that directly impacts the lives of real people. There are 44 million acne sufferers in the US, almost all of whom are spending too much on treatments that don't work.
Tech focus – Work with real ownership on a modern tech stack alongside a great team. We follow modern dev practices and collaborate closely—and are always looking for ways to improve each other and the team.
Solid growth – We've grown 3x in the last year alone, and we aren't planning on slowing down anytime soon. At the same time, we're serious about building a lasting business by focusing on robust and fiscally responsible growth.
Engineering at Curology
Engineers at Curology work together in pods dedicated to a specific product area. Pods are small groups of engineers, designers and product managers that work together to solve problems with a high degree of autonomy.
We use Github pull requests for code review, and all engineers participate in the review and deployment process, which happens multiple times every day.
We're focused on creating the fastest and most engaging mobile experience possible for our users. We love React (w/ Mobx, Gatsby and Emotion) and use it everywhere, from the consumer experience to a wide variety of internal tools. We're also huge fans of Laravel, testing, and pragmatic, clean code.
Since we're growing quickly, we're also increasingly focused on scalability. On the technical side, we've been focusing on scaling our AWS infrastructure (Aurora, Redis, Redshift, Elasticsearch), as well as building ETL pipelines in Airflow to support our data science and operations teams.
On the product side, we're deploying NLP and machine learning solutions to help scale our operations to serve hundreds of thousands (and eventually millions) of customers.
A commenting system for our user community. Our consumer-facing React app currently has a popular
postcards
feature that allows users to share their journeys with each other as their skin improves and encourage each other with emoji reaction. We're adding a system that allows users to chat with each other.SMS reminders. Users often forget to put on their customized cream and then don't see results as quickly as they'd like. We're adding an SMS reminder system so that users can be reminded at a time of their choosing.
Working at Curology
We're a passionate, collaborative, hands-on team of doers. We believe people do their best work when they're paired with other talented people and feel excited each day to come to work.
