Engineering at Dashworks

Engineering team and processes

We use quarterly OKRs to set goals and align different functions. The engineering team works in weekly sprints. Each sprint begins with a retrospective and aligning on the week's tasks. Engineers work closely with designers and are empowered to own new features end-to-end, from talking to users and identifying specs to deploying code to production. We encourage everyone to share and implement suggestions that can improve the engineering process and productivity of the team.

Technical Challenges

A core component of our platform is an intelligent and personalized search that spans all sources of information used by a company like Slack, Salesforce, Google Drive, Notion, Airtable, etc.

Two important (and interesting!) technical challenges are:

  1. Leverage state-of-the-art NLP (for e.g. semantic search) to rethink information retrieval and search relevance for enterprise knowledge that's scattered in documents, messages, comments, code, emails, etc.

  2. Build a scalable infrastructure to connect with the APIs of these services while respecting their rate limits
