Datacoral provides data infrastructure as a service, enabling data scientists to build data products at a fraction of the cost and time. The product offers functional building blocks that quickly assemble and scale. These building blocks are specialized micro-services that collect data from any source, organize and transform that data, and harness it to get business insights or data-as-a-service. The blocks are deployed inside the customer’s AWS account to deliver an unmatched level of data security.
Companies want to be data driven, but the investments are huge. To help them we created the next generation of data infrastructure using serverless computing on AWS.
We have a dozen paying customers, and no sales team. Customers tell us they perform months worth of data pipeline work in an afternoon.
VC-backed by Social Capital ($4m). Handful of suitors for Series A.
Different parts of the engineering team work on projects with different rhythms: weekly sprints for the webapp, (bi-)monthly releases for backend data functionality. We follow select agile and lean engineering principles.
As a seed startup, we sometimes need to
push the car in an early customer implementation, so sometimes engineers perform ops tasks in customer's environments.
AWS Lambda is a new event-driven, serverless computing platform provided by AWS. Our code (deployed in AWS Lambda) runs in customer's AWS account, needs to scale with customer's needs. We monitor success without having access to the data itself.
GDPR compliance with advanced anonimization functionality.
Webapp to onboard customers (help them declaratively define what transformations are needed on the data).
We aspire that our culture is anchored on: optimism (startup odds are tough enough), teamwork (collegial, trusting, challenging), pragmatism (more than perfectionist).
