Role Description
As a software engineer, you will be building the core of the Debtsy product. You’ll have the opportunity to touch many parts of development, including full stack web development, data engineering, machine learning, DevOps, security, and you’ll get first-hand experience wearing product and strategic hats as well.
At Debtsy, you'll be an early member of a fast-growing company. You'll have a large degree of ownership and an outsized impact on our path and ultimate success. We foster a culture of collaboration and open feedback, thoughtful problem solving, and continual learning and growth.
About Debtsy
Traditional debt collection is rife with harassment and fraud, producing more consumer complaints than any sector of consumer finance. Debtsy is serious about driving systemic change in a predatory industry. We provide a data-driven debt resolution platform that’s built with empathy in mind, empowering borrowers to dispute, negotiate, and resolve their debt without stress or embarrassment while providing unparalleled transparency and compliance to financial institution clients.
Company Culture
Our Cultural Values
Behave like a product manager: What processes should be automated?
Support: We believe in collaboration, working as a team, and supporting each other as best we can.
Ownership: We believe in trusting one another, experimentation, owning outcomes, and learning from mistakes without seeking blame.
Improvement: We believe in both honest self-reflection as well as feedback as a way to improve our company and process every day.
Eagerness: We believe it’s important to be excited about what you do, whether it’s because of your amazing team, the technical challenges you’re facing, or the impact you’re having on the world.
Balance: “It’s a marathon, not a sprint.” While we work hard, we believe in taking care of ourselves too.
Feedback: Great cultures quickly surface problems. We want to know how we can be better, how we can make our relationship with you better, and otherwise how we can support you more.
Integrity: Saying the same thing as you believe. As Dalio wrote: Most people would be insulted if you told them that they don't have integrity — but how many people do you know who tell people what they really think?
