Engineering at Demigod
Our engineering team operates on 1-week cycles. At our weekly product meeting we write down new features, bug fixes, and experiments we want to run and sort the ideas by difficulty, utility to users, and tightness to the mission. We then choose our priorities for the upcoming cycle, spec the items out with our designer's help, and assign tickets to engineers on our issue tracker. During the week, we do daily 10 minute stand-ups where each team member describes her previous day's progress and her plan for the day.
We're building a natural language agent that (1) reads the user's weekly goals as described on the user's weekly call with her goal specialist, and (2) generates a context-aware, human-like message to nudge users throughout the week to complete routines and habits in the app.
You would build a feature that allows users to place bets to complete tasks or habits. For example, I might bet that for each day that I don't complete my exercise habit in the app, I lose $100. An extension of this feature would enable users to place
group bets
with friends, making a pot of money, which would be divided based on which user completes or misses her habit.You would modify our React Native app so that it also functions on Android devices.
You would build out an objectives and key results screen where users can describe their goals on weekly, monthly, or annual time scales.
