Divvy Homes
At Divvy, we’re on a bold mission to reinvent homeownership. We want to make home buying accessible to everyone. We do this through an innovative rent to own model where we fractionalize residential real estate to make it more affordable, more flexible, and a better fit for our customers’ lives.
We've built an exceptional team of 200+ (and growing!) that is mission driven and low ego, values collaboration, ownership, and working smart. We've raised about $400 million in funding and have been able to help thousands of customers buy homes, meaningfully changing their financial future. Our customers choose any home for sale, and Divvy buys it on their behalf. The customer leases the home back from us while building equity credits along the way, preparing to buy the home at the end of their lease. Our customers get to live in their future home today, while buying fractions of the home over time.
Divvy’s founders are experienced real estate and fintech entrepreneurs. We were incubated by Max Levchin’s startup lab (HVF). We are looking for resourceful and passionate people to join our mission.

Why join us?
We are on a mission to help 100,000 customers buy their first home.
We are backed by well known investors like Andreesen Horowitz, Max Levchin, GIC and others. We most recently raised $200mm Series D in June of 2021 from Tiger Global and achieved a $2 billion valuation.
We have a small, senior, and strong engineering team solving hard technical challenges.
Engineering at Divvy Homes
Our engineering team operates on bi-weekly sprints. Each sprint begins with a Monday planning/brainstorming and end of day goal setting. Each week ends with a short retro and demos. Engineers are given autonomy and support to craft solutions to business problems. We ship frequently and leverage GitHub and Google Cloud to ease that process. Each improvement we make in our efficiency or reach leads to more first time homeowners.
In our first 24 months, we've deployed over $100,000,000 into the housing market. As we scale, these numbers grow very quickly. We are underwriting thousands of applicants and simplifying the home shopping experience across many markets. This means ingesting tens of thousands of homes, pricing those homes in real time, and underwriting risk and fraud as quickly as possible. As we scale to new markets, our goal is to be purchasing many homes per day, and approving/rejecting candidates in under 5 minutes.
You would get to replace our current lengthy underwriting process with a pure-cashflow-based solution analyzing bank transactions.
You would work on building out our ledger system which breaks down payments into rent and equity components and tracks a tenant's % ownership over time.
You would build a streamlined home-shopping experience to allow a customer to go from sign-up to home purchase in a matter of days.
Working at Divvy Homes
We are an experienced team of start-up veterans & industry executives looking to empower an underserved market and build a business that transforms the path between renting and owning.
We do a few things to build diversity, equity and inclusion at Divvy Homes. First, we have a standard compensation package by level and role and we don't negotiate - we believe that our compensation is fair and generous and we want to build pay equity by offering everyone in the same role/level the same compensation package. For building diversity, we just hired our first Head of People and one of her focuses is building a more robust pipeline of candidates from all backgrounds so that we can effectively build a diverse team. We have a D&I Committee internally that worked on a variety of initiatives over the past year to build a more inclusive and equitable company including recruiting practices, interviewing, job description language, and other programs. From the top down, Divvy is invested in building a diverse and inclusive company - we would love for you to join and be a part of this mission!
We have a robust onboarding process where new hires go through a week of meeting their team and learning about the company. At the end of the week, all new hires spend a few minutes introducing themselves at our company Town Hall. Divvy Homes is very transparent, sharing financial metrics and company KPIs on a weekly basis. We have a company standup every Monday and a Town Hall every Friday.
As part of our commitment to an inclusive workplace, we are happy to offer prospective engineers the chance to connect with our engineering employees who come from underrepresented backgrounds. It’s a way to get a better sense of our team and what it might be like to work with us.
If you’re interested in connecting with our team, be sure to bring this up during one of our introductory calls!
