Role Description

We’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer passionate about using their creativity and talent to make access to homeownership more accessible. In this role, you’ll be part of the engineering team, building software to help Divvy scale to thousands of homes. At Divvy, you’ll own your projects from start to finish and help to scale our platform to thousands of new applicants and multiple new markets. You’ll report directly to Divvy’s CTO and work alongside a team of 5+ software engineers.

*** Technical Challenges *** We're growing quickly and that creates a large number of technical challenges. Depending on your interests and career objectives, you will work on solving challenges across three broad domains:

  1. Consumer experience - We want to make finding and buying your next home easier than renting. This involves building a great application experience, introducing applicants to agents, recommending homes, and hand-holding the customer through the process.

  2. Data Intelligence - Given that we are a financial product, we need to ensure that we are selecting the right candidates into our program (those with a high likelihood of becoming home owners), and pricing our offering as fairly and accurately as possible. You would work along side our data-science team to productize models and leverage our datasets to reduce risk and build a better product.

  3. Scale - Our goal is to buy thousands of homes in the coming years. Buying a home involves considerable complexity, and we want to remove as much human touch from this as possible. We are building systems to automatically underwrite customers, make offers, service our tenants, and more.

*** Responsibilities ***

About Divvy Homes

Over the past year, we’ve worked hard to build an exceptional team, raise over $70 million in funding, and provide homes for dozens of families, meaningfully changing their financial future. Our customers choose any home for sale, and Divvy buys it on their behalf. The customer leases the home back from us while building equity credits along the way, preparing to buy the home at the end of their lease. Our customers get to live in their future home today, while buying fractions of the home over time.

Divvy’s founders are experienced real estate and fintech entrepreneurs. We were incubated by Max Levchin’s startup lab (HVF) and are looking for resourceful and passionate people to join our mission.

Company Culture

We are an experienced team of start-up veteran's looking to empower an underserved market and build a business that transforms the path between renting and owning.
