We are using a SCRUM methodology with 6 weeks release cycle. We divide the release into 3 sprints of 2 weeks. The first 2 sprints are spent on features development and the last sprint is focused on integration and regression testing.
The team encourages everyone to be very hands-on even managers, and have a clearly defined hierarchy of seniority from engineer, to senior engineer, principal engineer and architect. Even architects are expected to spend 50% of their time coding and the rest of their time coaching the team and designing solutions. We have a very strong UX and PM team we closely work with on roadmap, release scoping and ongoing execution.
The engineering team is working on a variety of interesting challenges from data streaming, to batch data processing, to data science and tensorflows, advanced UI, open APIs strategy, container orchestration and configuration bootstrapping, etc...
You would get to work on our next generation data streaming architecture to help doing real time model scoring based on users behaviors.
You would get to work on our data science pipeline to move our python processing from Hadoop/YARN to Kubernete and Docker containers.
You would rearchitect our application to remove dependency from Hadoop HDFS and leverage S3 as a storage layer
You would work on data engineering project to integrate and prepare data from multiple customers sources using metadata based configuration
You would help building our micro-services stack to enable continuous deployment and services versioning and services isolations
You would implement various algorithms defined by the data science team in python, using Anaconda and tensorflow
You would redesign our current data processing pipeline to leverage Spark, Airflow and Beam
You would design and build various functions to our cloud based Saas application.
