Engineering at Dutchie

Engineering team and processes

Dutchie engineering teams operate on two week sprints and practice agile development. We are organized into scrum teams (which we call squads) managed through the partnership of an Engineering Manager and Product Manager. Our squads typically have 10 people, including 1 Product Manager + 7 Engineers + 1 QA Engineer/Analyst + 1 Designer. We use Github for Source Code Management, Jira for project management and push code to production daily.

Technical Challenges

Dutchie has a very large integration partner ecosystem. We are also in the midst of building a scalable services architecture.

  • Dutchie Register - We’re building a completely re-imagined Point of Sale register involving custom hardware, offline capabilities, and multiple peripheral support, all written in Flutter.

  • Dutchie Brand Portal - We’re building a Brand Portal to allow Brand partners to manage their product information on our platform.
