The Role: At Even, we use employer data and services to power unique capabilities in our app. As Engineering Manager of Employer Platform, you will lead a team of engineers to build and maintain our interfaces with employers. You will partner with functions like customer success & sales to expand who we can integrate with, directly impacting our go-to-market possibilities. You'll also work with operations & other engineering teams, building strong internal APIs and tools to ensure high quality data.

What you'll do: - Build and manage a platform engineering team. You'll join the engineering leadership team to guide the development of services across web and mobile, as well as work with our recruiting team to bring in other talented engineers to your team and the broader engineering organization. - Bring technical experience. You have meaningful experience shipping non-trivial products & services and can guide through learned experiences. - Share technical expertise and chart career paths forward. You love to mentor other engineers and help them understand complex technical problems and concepts, as well as help your reports find meaningful paths of growth. - Own and drive projects forward. You and your team team will own projects from start to finish. As leader, you'll understand the impact (both process and business) of your technical decisions. You love to code and don’t want to be out of the weeds. - Build and maintain documentation. As a growing and remote organization, having the necessary docs are key to our success. - Drive high quality standards. You know what good looks like, and you push & inspire your team through metrics, accountability, and leading by example.

What you'll need: - 3-5+ years of engineering management experience. - Experience in API design, a drive to automate away repetitive tasks, and a knack for establishing urgency without burnout through clear prioritization. - Passion for your craft, people, and our mission. You value quality across code, communication, and culture. - Understanding of how to operate in the unknown. Even is a growing company that doesn’t have it all figured out just yet. You’ll be successful here if you thrive in environments where the directions aren’t laid out for you. - A desire to keep growing your skills and an ability to learn quickly; you never stop learning.
