Famous is looking to expand it's user base to over a million users this year, and we need a dedicated senior DevOps engineer to ensure that our systems scale comfortably as we grow. Our product is web-based and served internationally using AWS. From development to release we use the following technologies: Node.js, PostrgreSQL, Redis, Docker, GitLab CI/CD, and Fastly.
We are searching for a technical leader that can drive our infrastructure efforts as our product scales. Duties include monitoring deployments and productions services, but also redesigning and improving our architecture. We're looking for someone who is passionate about delivering a reliable and fast experience to our users while also trying to minimize our operating overhead. You will be given autonomy over our operations infrastructure, but will be responsible for ensuring that systems are resilient and recoverable. Due to the sensitive nature of this work, we do require that you work on-site during operating hours.
- At least 5 years of experience in DevOps related work
- Highly experienced in AWS, including standing up and maintaining stacks, clusters and RDS/EC2 instances.
- Comfortable with monitoring and debugging tools
- Familiar with Docker
- Proficient in shell scripting languages such as bash
- Knowledgeable about CDN and edge computing services (We use Fastly at Famous)
- Experience maintaining Node.js RESTful API servers and infrastructure
- Familiar with Varnish/VCL
- Familiar with Gitlab CI/CD
- Interested in technical leadership
