Engineering team and processes

Given our size, we still align on product directions as a company, which means we're able to move quickly and reassess our sprint plans every two weeks. We have two-week sprints and deploy multiple times per week. Engineers work directly with product to finalize designs, and all of our project management (from specs to sprint boards) lives inside Notion.

Technical Challenges

We're establishing the system of record in debt capital—a space that's huge ($500B in the U.S. last year) but that still relies on MS Word, Excel, and e-mail for everything from capital provider contract negotiations to reporting. Our technical vision is to design a new system of record for debt capital from the ground up. That means coming up with an approach for digitizing and structuring the information in contracts, dealing with large-scale data (e.g., tens of millions of dollars in daily transactions), and designing a business process engine for financial rules.

Finally, as we ingest and standardize this data, we enable previously unavailable intelligence and analytics for both borrowers and capital providers. We surface this through a consumer-grade enterprise portal that has logins from multiple stakeholders and permission levels.

Projects you might work on
  • Automate data processing for tens of millions of dollars of charge card transactions. This would involve an ingestion interface (API), standardization layer, and storage.

  • Develop a document parsing engine and data schema to structure credit agreement data for the first time.

  • Build a task management and communications tool based on properties we've extracted from the credit agreement.

  • Work directly with our customer base to develop a debt capital data standard.
