Flexport
Flexport makes it easy for companies to move their products around the world. Shipping something from Shenzhen to Cincinnati or Rotterdam to LA requires complex coordination. Currently that’s done by telephones, spreadsheets, and fax machines. Flexport provides a web-based app that offers real-time visibility of your shipments.
Paul Graham, founder of Y Combinator, once said this: “Flexport is one of those rare companies that will not merely satisfy its market, but grow it. There will be more international trade because of Flexport, and international trade is a very big thing for there to be more of."

Why join us?
We're growing really quickly — Since 2013, we have raised $1.3B in VC funding and currently valued at $3.2B. #Unicorn. We're at a really exciting time in our history. Year over year, revenue and company size has doubled with more than 15,000 customers signed.
We're in a huge market that no one has been able to dominate yet — Global freight is a $10 trillion market. The largest freight forwarder in the world has a 2% market share. Global trade grows by 3% a year. This represents a huge opportunity for us. The only other tech company in this space is Amazon, and even if they were, somehow, to become the biggest freight forwarder in the world, there would be plenty of room for others.
Our goal is to become #1 — In a few short years, we have catapulted from #6,000 to become one of the #7 Freight Forwarder on the largest trade lane in the entire world known as the Trans-Pacific East Bound route. We are also the #2 preferred customer of the Japanese carriers. We accomplished this with very little to no marketing dollars and an engineering team of less than 40. We attribute this success to our high Net Promoter Score, which measures customer satisfaction. We average between 60 and 70 (50+ is excellent) compared to our competitors who average around -30.

The global freight forwarding industry operates using paper, spreadsheets and fax machines. We need to map all of this complexity and automate it using software.
The industry we're in is very complicated and building a simple user experience is a tough challenge. A huge benefit we have here is that the users of our software work in our office so the feedback loop is exceptionally short, which is very rewarding.
Figure out the most efficient way to pack our 747 freighter.
Determine, in real time, the cost to move freight between any two points in the world.
Automate archaic filing processes and save the operations team thousands of phone calls per week.
Manage and track fleets of trucks as they pick up and deliver cargo.
Deliver supply chain insights to logistics teams via a world-class analytics experience.
Predict capacity on container ships and match cargo to space on those ships.
