Engineering at Ganaz
We're a small team relying on each engineer having a high-level of ownership. We collaborate with product/sales to spec out high-level requirements and then work to put together a detailed technical implementation plan which we use to craft stories/tasks/estimates; we target small chunks of deliverable functionality deployed throughout the week (larger projects may start hidden behind feature flags). We do a daily standup via Slack and meet in-person at least twice each week to sync on work.
GitHub for pull-requests with automatic CI and releases (via Google Cloud Build). Engineers run our whole stack locally via docker-compose. We don't release without unit tests. Automated frontend integration tests via TestCafe.
Infrastructure-as-code with Terraform. Kubernetes configurations checked into source control. Logs streamed to CloudWatch for quick analysis.
Architect and build a service to efficiently stream updates to web and mobile clients via websockets.
Create a ReactNative app to extract data from QR codes on birth certificates in Mexico to make worker onboarding fast.
Build an e-sign platform that fulfills legal requirements without email addresses. (Believe it or not, most e-sign platforms require signers have email addresses!)
Design data storage, analytics, and visualization for exit surveys.
Modify an existing language translation model to handle common misspellings/abbreviations. (Our system supports 20+ languages.)
Architect a data storage and retrieval system that is compliant with federal I-9 regulations and can be integrated with existing AI systems for threat/anomaly detection.
