Role Description

Garner’s mission is to reconfigure how the US healthcare system works. By helping employers restructure their healthcare benefit to provide clear incentives and data-driven insights, we get employees to higher quality and lower cost healthcare providers. The result is that patients get better health outcomes while doctors are rewarded for practicing well, not performing more procedures. We are backed by top-tier venture capital firms, are growing rapidly and looking to expand our team.

We’ve recently launched our product and now we’re moving quickly to expand, hone, and enhance its features to help our members find top doctors in their area. To achieve this, we’re looking for a senior engineer that knows how to manage auto-scalable systems, identify problems before they arise, and works closely with other engineers to build resilient software.

Garner is headquartered in NYC, but this position is available for candidates who are comfortable working remotely with the US.

Main responsibilities:

Enhance and expand the Garner deployment platform in collaboration with the Head of Engineering Build and deploy strategic software tools to improve the velocity of the team Protect our users’ privacy and security through infrastructure policies and access controls Instrument and monitor total system performance Support the Garner app in production

Our software kit:

AWS, Terraform, Kubernetes, Istio, Postgres, ElasticSearch

Ideal qualifications:

4+ years hands-on work with deployment systems, containers, monitoring, and alerting 2+ years working in a security-conscious environment Expertise with Terraform Experience with a major cloud provider, preferably AWS Experience with Kubernetes Experience working in a team using agile methodologies and fluency with the agile toolkit
