Go is a free iPhone app for car insurance. Snap a photo and get insured in 60 seconds.
Apple’s App Store has ranked Go #1 for over 1,300 days and counting. It outranks GEICO, State Farm, Allstate, and companies that spend $5B a year on ads
If you look at the next major industry where an app is outranking the incumbents, their team size is 600 people. Go is less than 50. At our current revenue growth rate, Go is on track to pass the 30th largest insurer in 4 years. That insurer has 100,000 customers, a $3B market cap, and is 82 years old. But no one hear whistles and waves at yellow cars for a ride, writes out deposit slips for their checks, or pushes a steel cart down an aisle to fill it with groceries. We built Go because is the product we wanted
If you look at market caps of the 30th largest company in messaging, ridehsaring, or social networking it is probably $0. In US car insurance the 30th largest company has a market cap of $3B. Go can build a meaningful business while having a real impact on customers lives by helping them save enough money to give their family and kids more education, food, or gifts
You don't want to be a 9-5 cog. You want to build things end to end and be an owner.
You're problem solving and you're doing unconventional things and coming up with unconventional solutions. You'll be building on essential infra that doesn't exist yet.
Get sh*t done.
We practice both radical candor and ruinous empathy.
Yummy snacks, obviously. Coconut water, obviously. We have strong democratic institutions for beer selection.
Roof top deck with potential plans for Coleman jacuzzi after Series D.
Unlimited bathroom breaks.
We celebrate customers. We don't do team building games. But we do sail, hike the Santa Barbara coast, and have a ski trip 3 years in the making (that this year made it to Napa).
What's an expert? We're not sure there are any. But we think we can always be better system builders if we learn. The Go Library funds unlimited books and we support conferences and curiosity in every way we can
