Golden is mapping out the world’s knowledge and building a useful tool for all. We are backed by the leading VCs in the Bay Area and notable angels. Ask us about our demo.
We have a legendary mission of mapping out human knowledge and providing the best interface to storing public and private knowledge. We are taking a hybrid approach of building out a community with an useful visual editor interface and using ML/NLP algos to bring leverage to community contributions and pre fill out existing knowledge. Powerful asynchronous editor, transparent edit histories, merge conflict solutions, following progression of the canonical knowledge of topics of interest, are some of the components to the platform. Please get in touch for a demo.
Founded by YC founder Jude Gomila (who sold Heyzap for $45m in 2016). This time round I'm keen to build a multi billion dollar, iconic company and build on the lessons from before. We have put together an ambitious team of mostly engineers to work on the business.
Backed by 3 tier A VCs in the Bay Area (not announced yet but ask us about it).
Structure of the engineering team is fairly flat and meritocratic. We have 5 engineers right now and we refer to the person with the most skill in a certain area to take judgement calls in that area (while cross checking it against our vision and principles). We do daily scrums at 10AM to make sure everyone is on track and not blocked. We also have a full team presentation every monday at 10AM to go over all progress of the last week and what we want to achieve this week. We appropriately check PRs from each other when needed and jump into helping each other if requested.
We are running continuous deployment using CircleCI and have linting setup. Every Friday we check for rogue PRs that are hanging out and clean them up. We run a series of tests before deploying our work into production and usually test in staging systems to make sure the project meets its objectives and it meaningful. Our process is under continuous improvement and we are open all make it better. The processes are build by the engineers as well so that they have consensus and buy in to what we execute on. We have a variety of slack channels setup to make everyones life much easier.
We track all projects in asana and are investigating other systems to cut out wasted effort/comms/time.
