Role Description


Does the thought of getting in at the ground level of a new startup excite you? Do you hate the thought of following a traditional path and working for a boring ass corporate company? Are you a talented programmer that is obsessed with building and eager to learn?

Goobr is a social media platform exclusively for pets. We're going to disrupt the massive but boring pet industry by not only making pet ownership significantly easier, but also more fun for the next generation of pet owners. I have a killer product and am looking to fill this role prior to launch. Before Goobr, I founded one of the fastest growing plant-based nutrition companies in the country and partially exited to General Mills.

I'm looking for someone that's hungry and has something to prove. As the first employee and founding engineer lead, you shouldn't just be an executor that takes directions. Ideally, you're a builder, a creative, and someone who understands that without taking risks, there is no reward.

I'm a big believer that a company's team is their product and without the right one in place, you will fail. I've also learned from experience that oftentimes the people who look best on paper, are the ones that can be the most toxic. I'm not focused on what you've done, I'm focused on what you can do. A college degree or significant job experience is absolutely not required. The only requirement is that you are an extremely talented software engineer and have a passion to learn as you go.
