GoShip
GoShip is a freight booking marketplace. It's like Priceline (or Uber) but for booking domestic freight shipments. Instead of calling a broker, customers can now compare prices and place orders online in just a few clicks, saving up to 30% over some of the better known options. We have a network of 50,000 freight carriers, providing shippers of all sizes the most cost-competitive shipping solutions.
Why join us?
We're already doing several million$ in revenue, and on track to increase revenue 3x this year. We're growing fast, and hiring to accelerate it even more.
Our team includes people with both tech (ex Facebook, YC, Thumbtack) and deep logistics experience (we're backed by a major logistics company).
We are well funded and have competitive salary, equity and benefits. Now is a great time to join before we do our Series A.
Engineering at GoShip
We plan, build and ship in 1-2 week cycles. We start the week reviewing projects and aligning on scope/spec/estimate. We then build things, and push them to a test environment. Everyone on the team helps dogfood and test before we push things to production. We use pull requests for code reviews, measure changes with analytics in Heap, and try to build and ship at a fast pace.
We need to take a lot of logistics complexity and simplify it into a super easy to use and intuitive user experience— for bookings, pricing and dispatching, across tens of thousands of carriers.
You would help re-build the booking flow from scratch. We think this will at least 2x our conversion rates, especially on mobile.
Build integrations with 3rd party check-out flows (eg: Shopify) to support freight shipping options for b2b customers who are asking for it.
Implement Stripe for payments, moving away from the current vendor.
Working at GoShip
(1) Distributed — so we place a lot fo emphasis on written documents and good communication (2) Focussed on moving fast — we think velocity comes from everyone having the full context to make decisions, so we can get things right the first time and prevent re-work (3) Impact oriented — we are metrics driven and measure impact as much as we can
We have a diverse team that spans the entire US and multiple ethnicities. We don't have metrics for diversity but strongly believe diverse experiences on the team lead to better decisions and better products.
We are remote friendly, have unlimited budget for good tools, and strive to empower everyone with full context to do their work and act like owners.
