Engineering at GreenPark Sports
We split into a Front-End engineering team building our game in Unity and the Systems Services team responsible for our backend and micro-services architecture. As a small team, we're loosely structured where each team member has their area of responsibility and knows their end goal and is charging towards it. We're highly collaborative, wether it's working in a small team on a specific feature set, or with the game and UX designers to understand the requirements. As a startup, we're growing and evolving fast - you'll cope well with uncertainty and look forward to bringing your own knowledge to help solve big problems.
Processing live sports and esports data and tracking events in realtime, matching this against the game play events we care about and providing interesting information to our players.
Working out what constitutes an interesting
event for our players. For example, Klay Thompson coming off the bench to score 2-points for the Warriors is not interesting. Klay Thompson coming off the bench to score 2-points for the Warriors after being injured, giving them the lead in a critical game is highly interesting.
Building the
referee
service that controls our gameplay. Responsible for working in with the live game data and matching it to events for players.3D animation clothing and avatar system, managing an extensive production pipeline, allowing the creative team to review and approve gear for inclusion in the game.
Calculating a dynamic stats system for various sports and eSports which we can use internally to look up and calculate events at any period of time throughout a match, often includes somewhat
esoteric
stats outside the normalbox score
you might see in a normal sports game.
