Mission: Your new obsession will be leading and mentoring a small team of Senior Engineers building the GreenPark mobile application using Unity3d. The work you and the team do will bring the experience to life, helping our users celebrate the highs and commiserate the lows. It’s the face of the GreenPark user experience. No big deal.
Team: You will be supported by, aka ‘reporting to’, the VP Engineering and you'll lead a small team of Senior Engineers who are developing in Unity for the first time. You are an excellent mentor, happy to be the
go to technical resource and you strive to make everyone around you better. You’ll coordinate closely with the Systems Engineering team on ensuring their APIs are performing and delivering the data required and you love nothing better than taking the best
I bet you can't do that ideas of the creative team and surprising them by bringing them to life.
Technical: You live and breath Unity. You dream in C#. You know and understand the challenges of developing as a team and you have strong, battle tested ideas on how to overcome the problems. You shipped several quality mobile games built in Unity where you had a core leadership and technical role. You have experience with a multiplayer game (preferably on mobile) and strong opinions on the architecture and how to build something maintainable that works with Unity.
Animation: You love rich, well designed, UI and UX that lives, breathes and makes the application more than just a flat experience. Our app is inhabited by Fanatics, avatars with character and personality. You have experience working with animators, animations, animated characters and a deep gear / clothing system.
Art: Games are a collaborative experience, you've worked with artists and UX designers to help them bring their vision to life. You know what's needed to set some constraints in order to keep performance, but you also have the creative chops to suggest alternative ways they can achieve their vision.
Interview: Contribute to interviews of new team members for both technical ability and culture fit.
Documentation: All team members are expected to maintain architectural documents and good coding practices, but you'll set the standards for Unity and ensure that we have the structure and documentation in place to effectively grow and expand our team.
Travel: Occasional travel is not uncommon with any role at GreenPark, but this role in particular would be expected to travel between Burlingame and Calabasas (or vice versa) at least every two weeks. Hey, that’s game, set and match! We offer exciting times ahead, lots of spectacular twists and turns, hard work and the sweet success of achieving something most people wouldn’t think possible - if they could imagine it at all. If this sounds like it might be you, apply now and let's chat!
